Description:

Located off Route 9, the former Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church property comprises four parcels -- all sold together.

  • Parcel 1 | house | 1497 Hostler Road | ±6.96 acres | parcel includes cemetery.
  • Parcel 2 | new church | 1523 Hostler Road | ±0.70 acres.
  • Parcel 3 | original church | 881 Chestnut Hill Road | ±0.46 acres.
  • Parcel 4 | hall | 880 Chestnut Hill Road | ±0.44 acres | historic one-room schoolhouse.

The new church, built in 1976, is a two-level brick building with an attractive sanctuary and office on the main level.  On the lower level is a spacious hall, warming kitchen, restrooms, and storage. The building has plenty of paved parking and includes a covered 24' x 30' picnic area (built 2000) in the rear.  The main level has central air.  According to tax records, the building is 5288 SF over two levels.

The parsonage, a brick rancher on nearly 7 acres, was built in 1965.  It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a finished basement, sunroom, and central air (fuel oil heat). Above-grade square footage is 1118, according to tax records. There is currently a long-term tenant occupying the home.  Please do not disturb!  (The cemetery across the street is also part of the parcel.)

The old church is in fair condition, and is used for storage only.  It has power, but no plumbing or functioning HVAC.

The hall, known as Wesley Hall, is a historic one-room schoolhouse that had been converted to a fellowship hall.  The building has no functioning plumbing or HVAC.

The new church and parsonage share well and septic; there is no well or septic for the old church or Wesley Hall.  It is unlikely that the old church parcel could support a well and septic.  Please contact the county for additional information.  See septic records for download at the bottom of this webpage.  The property is zoned rural.  Please see the zoning text and table at the bottom of this page.

To schedule a tour, please have your real estate professional book through ShowingTime.  There is no option to lease.  The seller has limited knowledge about the property and welcomes buyers to undertake a full inspection.  The property will be sold as is. Owner financing may be available for a full-price offer. Terms: 30% down, 7.5% interest, amortized over 20 years, 5-year balloon.  The seller makes no representation regarding condition, zoning, or use.  Buyers should address any issues during the study period.  The seller has its own closing agent. Buyer to pay all closing costs excluding commission and property tax, if any.
